The Photo TravelerThe Photo Traveler by Arthur J. Gonzalez
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an intriguing novel which I am sure many teens will adore. The comparison to Madeleine L’ Engle books came to mind as I read the first chapter of The Photo Traveler.

There was something in L’ Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time series, published decades ago, which I’d admired, loved, & longed to find again in another book or series, something which combined fantastic travel to other times & dimensions with a down-to-earth, cozy feeling. I was delighted to find this rare combination in Arthur J. Gonzalez's unique novel.

I am not a teenager but with a strong character like Gavin and high emotions of the other characters, I can easily grasp why so many young adult readers will be drawn to this series.

More than that, I believe The Photo Traveler has broken through all kinds of barriers of defined “genres” and will prove in years to come that it was a real catalyst for teens to read and learn about life, human nature, history, and, of course, love.
